    Quick answer

The Kaufland image tool tests a first photo against Kaufland's product data guideline: 1024 px as standard and 2048 px for zoom, in height or width, a 10 MB limit, an accepted format and a white background. Kaufland lists those sizes as recommended. The check runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

Kaufland sets a higher bar on resolution than many marketplaces. Its product data guideline recommends at least 1024 px in height or width as standard, and 2048 px for the zoom function. Photos prepared for a 500 px minimum elsewhere can look fine in your files and still fall short here.

The tool also tests the white background the guideline asks for in the first photo, and the 10 MB limit. It works on your device, so your photos stay private.

White background, but no white space

Kaufland's guideline asks for a clear silhouette on white in the first photo and also says no shadows, frames or white space. Those two rules pull against the usual habit of padding a photo onto a large square canvas. Crop close to the product, and let the white background be a backdrop and not a margin. Fix All on this page keeps your photo's own shape, so it adds no new margins.

The guideline ties the white background to Google Shopping, among other uses, because Kaufland passes images to other marketing channels. It mentions that Google Shopping recommends 1440 px width for clothing and accessories, and that many social platforms recommend 1200 x 1200. If you sell clothing, 2048 px covers all of those at once.

Rules that are easy to miss

Seals like Stiftung Warentest are named as not permitted, even when the award is real. Put that information in your product text. The same goes for flags, delivery promises and prices. Snapshots are not accepted as the main image and neither are placeholder photos, which matters if your feed sends a generic image for products still waiting on photography. Kaufland suggests 5 to 10 pictures from different angles.

    Questions sellers ask

Is 1024 pixels a hard limit on Kaufland?

The guideline lists 1024 px under recommended image sizes, in height or width. We treat it as a fail here so you catch small photos early, measured on the longer side. A fail is our stricter reading of a recommendation, not a statement that Kaufland would refuse the file.

    Which formats does Kaufland accept?

The guideline lists PNG, JPG, JPEG, WEBP, TIFF and GIF, with a 10 MB maximum per file. Browsers cannot open TIFF, so convert one to JPEG to test it here. JPEG is the safest choice for photographs because it keeps file sizes well under the limit.

Should the whole product be visible in the first photo?

Yes. Kaufland says the product must be shown in full in the first photograph, and extra images can show detail views. It also asks that photos show only the product and accessories in the scope of delivery, so leave out props the buyer will not receive.

Does this test catch soft shadows?

Not reliably. The guideline says no shadows, and this test looks only at the outer edge of the image, so it can pass a shadow near the product. Check it by eye, too. Remove the shadow in your editor before upload if you want to follow the guideline exactly.

What size should Kaufland product images be?

Kaufland recommends 1024 px in height or width as standard, and 2048 px for the zoom function. Each file can be up to 10 MB. Export at 2048 px on the longer side and you clear both figures with a single master image.

How many pictures should I add on Kaufland?

Kaufland suggests 5 to 10 pictures from different perspectives, with detail shots among them. The first must show the whole product on white. Photos should show only the product and the accessories in the scope of delivery, so leave out props.

Why does Kaufland ask for white but no white space?

Its guideline wants a clear silhouette on white in the first photo, and also no shadows, frames or white space. So crop close to the product and let white be a backdrop and not a margin. Avoid padding a photo onto a large square canvas.

Can I use a placeholder image on Kaufland?

No. The guideline says placeholder photos are not accepted as the main image, and neither are snapshots or collages. This matters if your feed sends a generic picture for products still waiting on photography. This tool cannot tell a placeholder from a real photo.

Does enlarging a small photo to 2048 px help on Kaufland?

It meets the size figure but adds no real detail, and this tool tells you when that has happened. A soft image stays soft at zoom. If you have a larger original, use that instead, or photograph the product again at a higher resolution.

Is there a free Kaufland image checker?

Yes, this page is free and tests your photo in the browser, so nothing is sent anywhere. It covers size, file limit, format and the white background. Rules about text, logos and seals are listed under the report for you to check by eye.
