Quick answer

A profit margin calculator for Bangladesh sellers shows your real margin in taka per shipped order, after ad cost, packaging, courier charge, COD and returned parcels. It also gives the return rate where profit reaches zero and the price needed for your target margin. Every starting figure is editable and most are examples.

What this tool does

How to use it

  1. 1Enter your selling price, product cost, packaging and ad cost per shipped order.
  2. 2Add your courier charge, COD percentage, return rate and return charge.
  3. 3Read your profit, margin and break-even return rate, then set a target margin to get a price.

Selling price minus product cost is not your margin. In Bangladesh, a Facebook or website order also carries ad spend, packaging, the courier charge, a COD cut, and the cost of parcels that come back unsold.

This calculator counts all of that per shipped order. It also shows the return rate where your profit falls to zero, and the price you would need to reach the margin you want.

Why ad cost is charged on every shipped order

You pay for the ad whether the customer accepts the parcel or not. So the calculator keeps ad cost, packaging and other costs in the loss on a returned parcel. This is why margins can look fine on paper and thin in the bank.

To get ad cost per shipped order, divide your ad spend for a month by the orders you shipped that month.

Break-even return rate

This is the return rate at which delivered orders only just pay for returned ones. If your real return rate is close to it, a small rise can turn the product into a loss. Compare it with your own rate before you scale ads on a product.

Questions sellers ask

What counts as the margin here?

Margin is the profit per shipped order divided by the sales value per shipped order. Sales value counts only the delivered share of the product price, because returned parcels bring in no money. Delivery fees you charge the customer are counted as cash in, but not as sales.

What happens to the product cost when a parcel returns?

The calculator assumes the product goes back into stock, so its cost is not counted as a loss on a return. If returned items often come back damaged, add the average loss to the other cost field so the result stays honest.

Which delivery charge should I enter?

Enter what your courier charges you for your usual parcel and area. The default is the Steadfast rate for a 500g parcel inside Dhaka, checked in October 2026. The courier charge calculator can compare Steadfast, Pathao and RedX for the same order.

Why does the target price sometimes show not possible?

If your target margin plus the COD percentage reach 100%, no price can achieve it, because the fee and margin would take every taka of the sale. Lower the target margin to a realistic figure and the required price will appear.

How do I calculate profit margin on a COD order in Bangladesh?

Take the cash collected after the COD cut, then subtract delivery, product cost, packaging, ads and other costs. Average that with the loss on returned parcels at your return rate, and divide by delivered sales per shipped order. The calculator does this as you type.

What is a good profit margin for a Facebook seller in Bangladesh?

We cannot give one number that fits every seller, and this page does not claim a benchmark. The 20% prefilled in the target field is only a starting value. Set the margin you need after your ad spend and return rate, then read the price it requires.

How many returned parcels can I afford before I lose money?

The break-even return rate answers this. It is the share of shipped parcels that can come back before profit reaches zero. If your real rate sits close to it, a small rise can turn the product into a loss, so compare them before you scale ads.

How is this different from the courier charge calculator?

This page takes one delivery charge and adds ad cost, other costs, a break-even return rate and a target price. The courier charge calculator compares Steadfast, Pathao and RedX on one order but has no ad cost field. Compare couriers there, then enter your rate here.

Is this profit calculator free, and are my numbers stored online?

It is free and needs no account. The calculation runs in your browser, and your figures are saved only in this browser so they are still there next time. Nothing about your prices or costs is sent to a server.
